First impressions and the setting
The Standard sits right on Hua Hin beach, a short hop from the town centre. The design is the first thing that hits you: playful, colourful, and unmistakably photogenic. The film shows the arrival, the grounds, and whether the style comes with substance underneath.
The pools and the beach
During our visit, the pool area and the beach just beyond it gave the day two different settings. The film shows the loungers, shade and atmosphere we encountered. Activities or vendors seen on the public beach should not be assumed to be included in a hotel day pass.
Food, drink, and the day pass credit
Our filmed pass included food-and-drink credit, which changed how we assessed the value. We ate and drank on camera so viewers could see what that visit involved. The credit was spending allowance under that offer, not a cash refund. Check the resort's current terms and the outlets where any credit applies before buying.
Who the day pass suits
For us, the appeal was a pool day without a room booking. Couples, visiting friends and families may want different things from that outing. Ask about the facilities available specifically to day-pass guests, particularly children's facilities, loungers and any reservation requirement; hotel room-package benefits may be different.
The verdict
Our visit delivered the beachfront setting and relaxed resort day we were looking for. The food-and-drink credit was part of our value calculation, but another visitor's conclusion will depend on what they would actually spend and use.
